CEIOPS comments on the IASB Exposure Draft regarding the final standard relative to “Insurance Contracts” - 29.11.2010

CEIOPS today published its comments on the Exposure Draft of the
International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) regarding the final
standard relative to "Insurance Contracts"

CEIOPS appreciates IASB's work and commitment towards achieving a
definitive accounting standard dedicated to insurance contracts that is
based on a current value concept and takes the opportunity to convey
additional comments.

Calls for expression of interest - EIOPA Stakeholder Groups - 26.11.2010

As part of the process to prepare setting up the European Insurance and
Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA), CEIOPS is publishing today two
Calls for Expression of Interest for two future stakeholder groups: the
Insurance and Reinsurance Stakeholder Group and the Occupational Pensions
Stakeholder Group .
Interested candidates are invited to submit their applications by cob
31.12.2010 together with required documentation, indicating clearly the
Stakeholder Group they are seeking membership of.

CEIOPS comments to European Commission's White Paper on Insurance Guarantee Schemes - 23.11.2010

CEIOPS published today its comments on the European Commission's White
Paper on Insurance Guarantee Schemes. The comments focus on possible
differences with the European Commission's positions and on issues that
were not covered in CEIOPS' recommendations provided in 2009.

Public consultation on CEIOPS Draft Report on Variable Annuities

CEIOPS released today into public consultation its "Draft Report on
Variable Annuities". The report is the result of CEIOPS work aimed
identifying a desirable supervisory treatment of variable annuities under
Solvency I as well as in a Solvency II context in the view of opportunity
of a smooth transition from Solvency I to Solvency II.
Stakeholders are invited to submit their comments by Email no later than
25.01.2011 cob.

CEIOPS response to the European Commission Green Paper - “Towards adequate, sustainable and safe European pension system

CEIOPS has submitted today to the European Commission its Response to the
consultation on the Green Paper – "Towards adequate, sustainable and
safe European pension systems".
CEIOPS response is the result of discussions among CEIOPS Members and
Observers and focuses on those issues within the competence of CEIOPS
which are not political in nature. Although it is not for CEIOPS to
propose solutions for all problems identified in the Green Paper, CEIOPS
and its Members represent a source of considerable expertise and
supervisory experience and stand ready to support the Commission in the
development of any detailed proposals for an efficient and sustainable
future framework for pensions.
